LNG Deliveries to Cape Canaveral

The Problem

Supplying LNG for a New Aerospace Application

Methane-fueled launch vehicles are changing what the Space Coast needs from its fuel suppliers. When an aerospace customer at Cape Canaveral needed LNG for its Florida operations, it needed more than molecules. Rocket propellant has to meet composition specifications far tighter than fuel for power generation or transport, and every load has to arrive on a schedule that keeps up with launch campaigns. To meet both requirements, the customer turned to Sawgrass.

Sawgrass produced the LNG at its Miami liquefaction facility and coordinated delivery to the customer’s Cape Canaveral site, completing the first deliveries in August 2026.

The project extended Sawgrass’s established LNG supply capabilities into the aerospace industry, drawing on its experience managing production and delivery for customers across Florida and the Caribbean.
